The Kindle Wireless Reading Device is a solid piece of work. It is based on the latest E Ink Pearl technology which gives a higher contrast. That makes the words easier to read even under the Sun. The 6” unit which I am using weighs less than 8.5 ounces and will not add much weight to your luggage. The best thing I like about this device is the battery life and storage. A single charge can last me a month and I can store lots of books.
Amazon’s website does not sell the Kindle device to Singapore customers. In order to buy this device you will need an address in the country in which the device can be shipped to. You can get a little help from one of the logistics companies in Singapore. An example of company offering such service is Singpost.
Firstly, you need to get an account with vPost.
After signing up with vPost, you will get 3 foreign shipping addresses. One in USA
, one in Japan and one in Europe. For purchasing a Kindle device you use the USA address.
Once your account is created you can proceed to buy your Kindle from Amazon website. You can pay using credit cards issued by Singapore banks so there is no issue for payment.

Once payment is done you can wait for the device to be shipped to your USA address with vPost. After the device reached vPost in USA, you will need to pay the shipping charges before the device can be shipped to your Singapore address. The whole process takes about a week.
